David Litherland, MRICS

David is a highly experienced chartered surveyor with 40 years of expertise in the construction industry. As a founding director of Russell Bolton Consulting, he has played a key role in shaping the firm’s direction. David was formerly the partner leading a large cost consultancy team at Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) in Manchester, where he oversaw a broad range of projects across both public and private sectors.

David has extensive experience in delivering complex projects, including high-profile new builds, office headquarters, commercial and residential developments, luxury hotels, retail spaces, and university campuses. His portfolio spans sectors such as education, hospitality, commercial real estate, and high-end residential projects. Over the years, he has worked with leading organizations such as the NDA, Aviva Investors, Hilton Hotels, ITV plc, the Home Office, Swissport Aviation, and several leading universities and leisure sector clients.

Having worked across the Northwest for leading firms like Deloitte Real Estate, Hargreaves Jones, EC Harris, Arcadis, and AYH, David has developed a deep understanding of diverse project requirements, procurement methods, and contractual structures.
