James is a highly accomplished development manager with over 30 years of experience in the property sector, having worked on prominent regional and national projects for brands like EC Harris, Grosvenor, Balfour Beatty and Mulbury.
James has worked on landmark projects such as Liverpool ONE, Manchester’s Spinningfields, Woburn Center Parcs, Manchester Smart Motorway and Capital Delivery Hub in Croydon.
His expertise spans new builds, refurbishments and fit-out projects, working as a developer, consultant and contractor. He has contributed to various sectors, including major highway infrastructure, utilities, city centre regeneration, high-rise residential developments and the hotel and leisure industries.
With a proven track record in managing significant sections of major construction projects, James excels in leadership roles, delivering results even under financial pressure. He is particularly skilled in design management and the procurement of major programmes of work. His extensive knowledge of the construction industry, including risk management and contractual issues, enables him to drive performance improvements through benchmarking and best practices.
James collaborates closely with grant funding agencies and local authorities to secure and deliver brownfield land development grants. He also provides strategic business support and helps implement operational systems across the full development lifecycle.
In addition, James has worked with private and institutional investors in the UK and overseas. He has also served as interim head for a London local authority, leading the technical commissioning and capital delivery hub.
